The art exhibition "Furie" by Bathory Legion [Daniela Mercuri / Galleria Astrolabio] and Väkevä Voima will open at Laterna Magica Kirjagalleria space (Rauhankatu 7, 00170 Helsinki) on Tuesday, July 22nd from 5-7 pm.
The exhibition will be open to the public from July 23rd to August 9th, 2025.The name of the exhibition "Furie" has its roots in Rome, more precisely in the Roman goddesses of vengeance who pursued and punished people who deserved punishment.
Few people know that the Finnish Embassy and the Finnish Institute in Rome are located in the Gianicolo area of Rome, which has a long esoteric history.
The area is home to, among other things, the remains of the Lucus Furrinae sanctuary.
The artists have studied the area, its history and mythology. The research carried out in the Gianicolo area and the reports written about it served as inspiration for the exhibition.
The art exhibition consists of photography by Bathory Legion and glass artworks and paintings by Väkevä Voima.
Bathory Legion is a photographer and art gallerist specializing in urbex and underground photography, and the exhibition will see Rome from a chthonic perspective.
Väkevä Voima's glowing glass artworks are juxtaposed with dark-toned paintings.

Bathory Legion is a photographer, multimedia artist, composer and gallerist from Rome, Italy.
She is a founding member of Galleria Astrolabio.
Bathory Legion actively organizes exhibitions, and over the years a large number of both Italian and international artists have participated in them.
As a musician, Bathory Legion has released or participated in 15 albums in the last 20 years, and her albums have also been released in Finland.
Väkevä Voima is a glass artist and painter from Southern Finland.
The basis of Väkevä Voima's works is the nocturnal Finnish nature and the amorphism that appears in it: a state of solid matter in which the substance is not organized into a regular crystal structure.
Glass is the best known of the amorphous materials, and Väkevä Voima has studied and created glass art for over ten years. In Väkevä Voima's paintings, amorphism appears in dark-toned works, which often have a special atmosphere. Typically, the paintings depict a frozen moment and a person or figure who encounters the power of nature, its horror and beauty.
